NIKA is hiring for an Electrical Power Systems SME to provide counsel and advice at a highly technical engineering level on compliance and quality management to the DHA Facilities Enterprise internal and external customers (MTFs) in the maintenance, repair and modernization of major healthcare facilities. This position is based in our San Antonio, TX office.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Develops, acquires and executes large and complex infrastructure repair and modernization projects which includes the crafting of measurable performance work statements (PWS), development of accurate current working estimates, collaboration and participation as a technical advisor in source selection boards, chairing project execution and kick-off meetings, serving as the Technical Representative, performing Quality Assurance and Safety compliance visits, performing design and submittal reviews, inspecting for compliance and design compliance in the installation of infrastructure systems.
• Develop test sequences from design documentation and perform functional testing of existing and newly installed equipment, infrastructure, and built-up electrical systems for government acceptance through the point-by-point verification of installation, functionality, and performance.
• Travel to sites to investigate open requirement packages and conduct detailed inspections of existing conditions of equipment, evaluate the effectiveness of current maintenance procedures, and confirm the use of correct operational practices.
• Provide a comprehensive and formal travel report detailing the observations, findings, and recommendations conveyed in a technical manner that remains consumable by a non-engineer.
Required Qualifications
• Demonstrate minimum of fifteen (15) years practical experience in the healthcare field. Two (2) years of this experience must have occurred within the last three (3) years. Practical experience is defined as having the direct responsibility for execution of installation, operation, maintenance, repair, or management of electrical physical plant/infrastructure systems supporting institutional, industrial, or medical healthcare campuses.
• Must possess extensive skill in electrical theory and practical applications to develop accurate estimates and make sound recommendations for repairs, sustainment, and optimization of building mechanical infrastructure systems.
• Must have the capability to perform sole initial evaluation of physical equipment condition through visual inspection, monitoring and testing, observed performance and evaluate equipment performance within the associated system.
• Must have skills, training, and qualifications to be an NFPA 70E qualified person to perform inspection and monitoring of electrical systems to include switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers, panelboards, transformers, transfer switches, and generators.
