JOB DESCRIPTION

Central Dispatcher

Location: Trenton, MO

As a Central Dispatcher at Fischer Concrete Services you’ll be the key point of contact for our three ready-mix concrete plants in Harrison, Grundy, and Livingston Counties. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring seamless operations by coordinating with customers, drivers, and plant staff to manage order intake, scheduling, and delivery logistics. JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinating and communicating with commercial vehicle operators regarding start time, hours, routes and end time.
  • Scheduling of commercial vehicles with regard to jobs.
  • Scheduling customers with regard to future deliveries throughout the week.
  • Coordinating truck maintenance or issues that arise while also completing schedule on time.
  • Verification of the status of customer accounts prior to taking orders.
  • Communication with your manager and accounting team when appropriate.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with concrete construction or concrete mixer vehicle operation is preferred but not required.
  • 2+ years of dispatching experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
  • Possession of strong organizational and technical skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Strong understanding of logistics.
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically.
  • Ability to precisely take down orders and input into applicable system.
  • Ability to use multiple computer screens on a desktop to schedule and monitor trucks.
  • Ability to utilize basic functions on various Microsoft programs, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to use a smart phone for apps and communication.
  • Familiarity with concrete mix designs is a plus.
  • Team oriented individual with a positive attitude.
