Summary: The Slide Attendant will facilitate the proper and safe use of the waterslides, assist enforcement of facility rules, and assist with daily cleaning of the facility.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Safely dispatch guests using the waterslides.
•    Consistently enforces the rules and regulations of the facility and the district.
•    Maintain the overall cleanliness of the pool deck and locker rooms.
•    Organize lawn chairs. 
•    Demonstrate and promote positive guest relations and exceptional customer service.
•    Work as a team with staff.
•    Participate in scheduled in-service training.
•    Complete all task checklists throughout the day to ensure necessary cleaning is accomplished.
•    Communicate with Lifeguards at slide stations to identify rule offenders or non-swimmers.
•    Make all safety issues or other questions and concerns known to either a Head Lifeguard or Supervisor.  
•    Perform opening and closing responsibilities as assigned.
•    Maintain cleanliness and organization of staff lounge.
•    Assist as part of the rescue team in case of aquatic emergencies. 
•    Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the district’s safety program. 
•    Perform other Park District-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Must be 16 years old or more. Must be able to swim. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: StarGuard Elite Certified Lifeguard with CPR, AED, Oxygen Support, and First Aid.


Classification: Seasonal, non-exempt


Wage Range: $15.00 - $16.75 per hour


Benefits: Access to some recreation facility usage.


Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and
/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to water, humidity and warm temperatures with some slightly disagreeable features. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
