Summary: Under the direction of the Membership Services Supervisor, our Fitness Desk Attendants deliver the highest quality of member and customer service through upbeat and enthusiastic engagement. Assists members and guests with inquiries, tours, sales, and membership services. Contributes to the overall success of the Recreation Center by embodying the mission, vision, and values of the Park District of Highland Park to provide welcoming, caring, and extraordinary experiences.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include, but not be limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner when entering and exiting the facility as well as during all member interactions.
• Proactively meet the needs of members and guests with accurate answers regarding Recreation Center and Park District information.
• Attentively and promptly respond to member needs.
• Admit members by scanning their membership cards and appropriately responding to messages regarding their membership account.
• Process sales of POS items and specialty services.
• Collect and properly enter member sales data into the systems.
• Assist members with membership transactions, including extensions, transfers, cancellations, and updating payment information.
• Participate in membership sales follow up including data entry, phone calls, and reporting.
• Assist with facility tours of potential members.
• At times, handle stressful situations, and maintain quality customer service.
• Perform light office work such as filing, copying and special projects.
• Ensure information is available to members and the public in the fitness area.

• Assist registration for all Park District programs and services and have general knowledge of PDHP offerings.
• Maintain a clean workstation and fitness floor area.
• Monitor the fitness floor, track, and fitness studio areas for safety and security.
• Regularly communicate with the Recreation Center managers, supervisors, and building engineer regarding member-related projects, concerns, or information relative to the coordination and maintenance of all facility operations.
• Possess and demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of facility equipment and fitness area.
• Confidently administer basic first aid, accident and incident reports, and Emergency Action Plans in compliance with the Park District policies.
• Maintain CPR certification.
• Enforce facility policies and etiquette.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software and Word Processing software.


Schedule: Wednesday 10:30 am-4 pm, Friday 10:15 am-3:15 pm & Saturday 12:30-6:15 pm
