Job Summary:
The Race and Gender Equity Manager will help to advance the agency’s mission and impact through the RGE Department. Efforts include organizing, promoting, and supporting in-person and online events, campaigns, and education and awareness activities focused on furthering mission objectives within the Worcester community. This individual will grow partnerships within the community, professionally represent the YWCA at appropriate community meetings and events, and work to inspire action within our community. They will participate within a dynamic and interactive team of staff members, volunteers, board members, and community supporters.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages and oversees scheduling, assignments, and the daily workflow of the Race & Gender Equity Advocate and DEI Coordinator/Trainer.
- Approves bi-weekly timesheet of Race & Gender Equity Advocate and DEI Coordinator/Trainer.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinate online and in-person events, activities, and campaigns for the Department.
- Facilitate all on and off-site programs including cancer support groups and maintaining relationships with community partners.
- Facilitate and support educational presentations in partnership with community organizations.
- Foster relationships with community partners and stay informed about local issues.
- Promote and co-lead agency’s Racial & Social Justice Learning Community and other community spaces. Recruit participants, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, and encourage engagement.
- Support agency engagement in key mission related community events and tabling.
- Establish and maintain relationships with community agencies, and faith-based organizations for collaboration purposes and for facilitation of community education in their realms.
- Further mission understanding through community presentations and panel discussions.
- Contribute towards agency’s social media, blog, website, reports, and print materials.
- Maintain data and information systems as needed in relation to department efforts as required by grant funders.
- Network with, cultivate, and maintain connections throughout the business, health, and non-profit community to build linkages, develop programs and increase participation.
- Provide input for grant writing and research.
- Assist with additional projects and all other duties as needed or assigned and deemed necessary to further the agency’s mission within the organization and community.
