Description: Under the direction of the Access Manager, the Library Aide ensures appropriate and efficient processing and distribution of Library materials and provides basic customer assistance.
This position will be assigned to the Northwest Library, which is located at 5600 NW 122nd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73142.
The hiring salary for this position is $15.00 hourly. This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week and is not classified as a seasonal position. This position is not exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. Candidates should be available during library operating hours which include afternoons, evenings and weekends. *

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
- One year of High School (9th grade) completed; and
- Minimum of 16 years of age.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Fundamental library principles, methods, materials, and practices
- Dewey decimal classification system
- Library resources and collections
Skill in:
- Understanding and following oral and written instructions.
- Typing or keyboard skills to enter and retrieve data using a computer.
- Filing alphabetically, numerically, using good spelling, and performing basic math computations.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with internal and external customers to give and extricate information in a courteous and friendly manner.
