General Internship Opportunities

Who We’re Hiring:

Doswell Operating Group is accepting applications for students interested in internship opportunities! Interns will have the opportunity to work in one of the many departments across our seven businesses. These opportunities range in focus from Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Inclusion, Wellness, Finance, Accounting, Safety, Continuous Improvement, Real Estate, Residential Trades, Commercial Construction, Metal Manufacturing, Supply Chain/Logistics, Retail Convenience, Graphic Design, and more!

Who We Are:

Jack Woodfin, CEO and President of our family of companies, first started the Woodfin Heating, Inc. business in 1977 with the goal to faithfully serve Richmond, Virginia and the surrounding areas.

Since then, we have been proud to expand our ability to meet consumers’ needs while maintaining a reputation for quality, dependability and “Class-A” service. Today, Doswell Operating Group consists of seven businesses all connected by our core values of Humility, Integrity and Respect.

What We Offer:

• Internships will be paid positions.

What You’ll Do:

Internship responsibilities will depend on focus of each internship. All interns will participate in a summer-long project, culminating in a final presentation alongside fellow interns.

What You’ll Bring:

• Students in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with relevant coursework completed is required.
  • Students in their Junior or Senior year are preferred.

What We Are Looking For:

• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Able to work full-time during the summer, for approximately 12 weeks, generally working 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, dependent upon the internship selected for.
• Job Environment will vary based on the internship selected and may include one or more of the following:
  • Office Environments
  • Construction Sites
  • Production Facilities
  • Residential and Commercial Dwellings
  • Retail Convenience Stores
• General physical requirements:
  • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted. 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
