Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse  to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY:  

The ENDOSCOPY RN is responsible for assisting the physician and delivering patient care to those patients undergoing endoscopic and outpatient procedures performed by the department. Able to perform all aspects of peri-operative care including preoperative phone calls, intraoperative care and post-procedure care from admission through discharge. The nurse is responsible for starting and monitoring IVs, administering peri-op medications, performing pre-procedure instruction and explanation of the patient’s rights and procedures.  Able to care for patients in recovery phases I and II while ensuring the safety of the patient through discharge. Able to always demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.  Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Idaho.  Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required.

Experience:  Special training or experience in endoscopic/ perioperative environments, preferred.  Knowledge and understanding of sedated patient care, including medication action; side effects, reversal agents, and precautions is required.

Equipment/Technology:  Basic computer knowledge.

Language/Communication:  Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak English.

Mathematical Skills:  Basic Math Skills, dosage calculations.

Mental Capabilities:  Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Can adapt to rapidly changing work flows due to changes in the schedule.

Interpersonal:  Works well with others.

Performance:  Can work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines.
