Education/Certification: High School Diploma or higher. Valid driver’s license.
Experience: Customer service experience. Previous experience in a doctor’s office or other medical office is required.
Equipment/Technology: Experience with computers and office equipment, required.
Language/Communication: The ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual is a plus. Must understand medical terminology.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percentages and interpret bar graphs.
Mental Capabilities: Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments. Must be organized, able to multi-task, and be a critical thinker.
Interpersonal: Good communication skills, and ability to work well with others. Team player and flexible. Performance: Can work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines. Good customer service skills. Is knowledgeable in contracted insurance plans and procedures. Requires compliance to all hospital policies and procedures including standards of confidentiality, safety, and conduct.
