JOB SUMMARY: The Junior Medical Physicist supports the medical physicist in ensuring the safe and effective use of radiation in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The role involves assisting the senior physicist with clinical, research, and quality assurance tasks, as well as working with imaging, radiotherapy, and diagnostic equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Radiation Therapy Support:
- Assist in the calibration and maintenance of radiotherapy equipment.
- Help in treatment planning by performing dosimetry calculations and simulations.
- Ensure safe radiation dose delivery by monitoring equipment performance.
- Imaging and Diagnostic Support:
- Assist with the calibration and maintenance of imaging equipment, including X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound.
- Participate in image quality assurance and performance testing.
- Support radiologists and technicians with imaging procedures and troubleshooting.
- Quality Assurance (QA):
- Conduct regular checks on radiation equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Perform dose measurements and safety assessments.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of QA protocols and procedures.
- Research and Development:
- Assist in research projects related to medical physics, radiotherapy techniques, and imaging technologies.
- Contribute to data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Help implement new technologies or techniques under the guidance of senior physicists.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international standards for radiation safety and quality control.
- Help prepare documentation and reports for regulatory bodies or audits.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with clinicians, radiologists, and other medical professionals to optimize patient care.
- Provide technical support and education to healthcare staff regarding radiation safety and equipment use.
- Training and Development:
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advances in medical physics.
- Attend departmental meetings and conferences to share findings and insights.
