Education/Certification: High School Diploma or higher. Current BLS Certification.
Experience: Minimum of three month’s related experience; equivalent combination of education and experience. Medical Terminology is not necessary but preferable.
Equipment/Technology: Ability to use hospital information system, electronic medical record and operate basic computer functions and software.
Language/Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively to patients, their families, referring offices, diagnostic and therapeutic facilities via phone, fax, computerized ordering systems and in person.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratios and percentages.
Mental Capabilities: Ability to apply common sense to carry instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
Interpersonal: Ability to work well with others as a team player.
