Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY:
Assist and provide direct and indirect patient care in the clinic setting. He/she communicates with providers/nurse manager/co-workers as appropriate, about changes in patients clinical including results of diagnostic evaluation and changes in patient condition of symptomatology. The MA may also have inventory/ordering responsibilities in addition to clinical responsibilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides basic nursing care that includes actions that meet psychosocial needs and communication needs within the nursing assistants scope of practice.
- Work under direct supervision of MD, PA-C, NP to provide excellent patient care to all clients.
- The employee is required to comply with all PCI standards and other company policies and procedures for payment card acceptance and security.
- Performs basic patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patients age.
- Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain or vital signs that are less than or greater then acceptable ranges.
- Documents patients vital signs appropriately in the patients chart.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate to the physician any observed changes in patient status and responses. Maintains awareness of the needs of the pediatric,
- Geriatric and general patient population.
- Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care to patient; answers questions within scope of practice.
- Communicates appropriately and clearly to nurse, co-workers and physicians.
- Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety.
- Prepares charts and gathers test results prior to the patient’s appointment.
- Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient family in the formation of the plan of care.
- Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.
- Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural and ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families
- Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat, clean and within facility standards.
- Completes annual education requirement.
- Maintains patient confidentially at all times.
- Reports to work on time when scheduled and completes work within designated times.
- Wears identification while on duty, uses computerized punch time system correctly.
- Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled.
- Attends at least 85% of staff meetings annually; read all monthly staff meeting minutes.
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Actively participates in performance improvement and quality improvement activities.
- Completes in-services and returns in a timely manner.
- Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled.
- Required to check emails and be responsible for its content at least once per week.
