Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Administrative Support Technician to join our team!

 

 

JOB SUMMARY:      

The Administrative Support Technician assists with needed aspects to help support the clerical team. Duties may include tasks as tending to the pending orders queue to insure patient care is being scheduled for tests, referrals, etc., performing appointment confirmation calls, faxing, following up on patient referrals, assisting with MIPS process, assisting new patient coordinator etc.  Maintains confidential interactions with patients and their guests.  Responds to emergency situations appropriately and according to training.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for the untranscribed (pending) order queue. Working directly with patients, providers, prior authorization team, and outside clinics. Ensuring that all orders are handled and appropriate appointments are made in a timely manner within 3 business day rule.  Ensuring all documentation is accurate and in the appropriate areas in the medical record.
  2. Perform patient appointment confirmation calls. Must be courteous and helpful at all times with the patients. These are crucial components to helping the clinic run efficiently.
  3. Assisting with faxing records and scanning.
  4. Ensures patient records and other patient information is kept confidential.
  5. Treats all persons with respect and dignity, including patients, families, guests, providers, employees and vendors.
  6. Must maintain accurate time clock punches, punch in and out according to clinic requirements and hospital policy.
  7. Maintains good working relationships, both within the department and with other departments.
  8. Any other duties assigned by supervisor or manager.
  9. Tracks outgoing referrals/outbound transition of care. Referrals are to be addressed within 48 business hours of order. Follows up on post referral appointment correspondence and ensure that correspondence is attached to the patient’s chart.
  10.  Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings and other meetings as required.
  11.  Responsible for knowing hospital policies and being familiar with hospital services.
  12. Assists new patient coordinator as needed.
  13.  Assists other staff with meaning full use measures and ACO tracking.

Qualifications

Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent.  Must be 18.  CMA, LPN, or extensive medical office experience is preferred.

 

Experience:  Two years of medical office, clerical or customer service experience preferred.

 

Equipment/Technology:  Business machines operation required and proficient in MS Office and Excel.  Has the ability to learn complex phone systems and hospital information system.

 

Language/Communication:  Must be a great listener and have the ability to communicate expertly and appropriately in English with a diverse group of people.

 

Mathematical Skills:  Basic math.

 

Mental Capabilities:  Must be even-tempered and able to make sound decision and judgments.  Must have the ability to prioritize multiple and competing customer and staff needs.

 

Interpersonal:  Must have excellent interpersonal skills by treating others with politeness and civility. Must be a team player.

 

Performance:   Strives for daily excellence in all verbal and non-verbal communications
