Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Full Time - Temporary Registered Nurse to join our Outpatient Cardiology team!  This is a 6 month position with a potential opportunity to transition to a permanent role.

 

JOB SUMMARY:  Nurses work closely with patients to monitor the severity and timing of pain in order to treat it effectively. Once a plan is determined, they must have excellent communication with the patient and family, and maintain treatment notes to watch for signs of abuse or other symptoms. This position also requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate between multiple medical facilities as a patient may be treated by various specialists simultaneously.

Registered Nurse will be responsible to help to maintain flow of procedures and maintain accountability within the nursing staff independently and collectively. Assist in creating a culture of learning and safety for all, and to maintain an environment of trust and integrity with others.

 In this nursing specialty, an RN will assist in the coordination of patient care. RN to assist as needed with other staffing needs and responsibilities when necessary to maintain continuity of care for patients. RN will seek to perform all duties and responsibilities within the nursing scope of practice.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Registered Nurse:

 

1. Meets nursing operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.

2. Provides professional knowledge and skill specific to pain management patient care. Assists in the development of technical and professional skills.

3. Assures quality of care by representing philosophies and practicing nursing standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments.

4. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

5. Ability and responsibility to communicate within and across the organization or systems to support improved patient outcomes.

6. Protects patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols; enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.

7. Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families. Provides information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests.

8. Works collectively with multidisciplinary care teams within and across facility systems. Maintains safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from other health care professionals.

9. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

10. Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem[1]solving methods.

Qualifications

Education/Certification: Graduate of an accredited RN program with a current RN licensure in the state of Idaho. Current BLS and ACLS certification and renewal as required.

Equipment/Technology: Basic computer knowledge.

Language/Communication: Must have ability to communicate effectively with others including the ability to read, write, and speak English.  

Mathematical Skills:  Able to calculate correct medication doses using necessary formulas as applicable. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers

Mental Capabilities: Ability to problem solve, and handle stressful situations 

Interpersonal:  Ability to work and communicate well with others.

Performance:  Consistently accomplish necessary duties and responsibilities.
