Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Clinical Research Coordinator to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY:  Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination and administration of investigative protocol. Must maintain a high degree of attention to detail and accurate records. Must provide good customer service in all forms of patient interaction. Must follow established protocols and procedures with exacting precision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  1. Interview subjects to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
  2. Record subjects’ medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
  3. Transfer and organize data gathered from paper formats via computer, recorders, or scanners.
  4. Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
  5. Explain clinical trial procedures, processes, protocols, or physicians' instructions to subjects.
  6. Prepare treatment rooms for subject examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
  7. Collect blood, saliva, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
  8. Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
  9. Escort subjects to examination rooms and prepare them for their visit.
  10. Greet and log in subjects arriving at office or clinic.
  11. Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking notes, or completing medical information forms.
  12. Prepare and administer investigative protocol (IP) as directed by a physician.
  13. Schedule appointments for subjects.
  14. Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies or equipment.
  15. Contact medical facilities or departments to obtain medical records.
  16. Operate electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
  17. Set up medical laboratory equipment.
  18. Ensure compliance with all clinical trial protocols and Good Clinical Practices (GCPs).
  19. May serve as a Study Lead as the primary point of contact on clinical trials.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:  High School Diploma or equivalent or higher. Current BLS Certification. Completion of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.

Experience:  Work in a doctor’s office or other medical office. Must be delegated by Principal Investigator (PI).      

Equipment/Technology: Experience with office equipment, medical equipment used to obtain vitals, computer systems to enter data and process information.   

Language/Communication:  Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual is a plus. Must understand medical terminology.

Mathematical Skills:  General math skills. 

Mental Capabilities:  Can regularly and consistently make sound judgments. Must be organized, attentive to details, critical thinker.

Interpersonal:  Good communication skills, able and comfortable to collaborate with others to accomplish tasks.
