Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team!

 

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The IV Infusion Nurse is responsible for implementing the operational policies for the department, standing as a first line of authority in unit problem solving, and acting as a liaison between the IV Clinic and the Program Director & Management. Facilitates and demonstrated cooperative behavior.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  1. Practices the nursing process of accessing, diagnosing, outcome identification, planning, implementing, and evaluating.
  2. Assesses and plans in collaboration with the patient, significant other, and the interdisciplinary health care team to meet the educational and discharge needs of the patient.
  3. Position requires on-call and after hours patient care in the clinic and home care setting.
  4. Must demonstrate a willingness to perform all requested job related tasks.
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient records and employee information and use discretion.
  6. Is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the IV department on the days scheduled to work.
  7. Responsible to ensure all scheduled shifts (including weekend and after hours, and on call )are filled as agreed and based on adequacy and qualifications of staff as related to patient acuity, technological needs and competency and age specific requirements.
  8. Manage productivity for their shift.
  9. Responsible to ensure patient satisfaction.
  10. Create and foster a positive environment.
  11. Assume additional duties as assigned by department supervisor.
  12. Documentation must meet current standards and policies.
  13. Adheres to the dress code; appearance is neat and clean.
  14. Wears identification while on duty.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:  Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Licensure as a RN in the State of Idaho. Current BLS and ACLS required.

 

Experience:   Required to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide competent care appropriate to the age of patients served, including infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Must possess excellent clinical skills, including demonstrated skill in establishing IV’s and good knowledge of IV therapy.  Administering multiple drugs through multiple sites and through central lines (PICC lines, Ports, and subclavian Sites.)

 

Equipment/Technology: Must possess a valid Idaho drivers license, meet minimum Idaho state automobile insurance requirements, and have the use of an automobile for transportation and use in performing assigned duties. Must be familiar with and ability to run infusion pumps/vital machines and have basic computer knowledge/skills.

 

Language/Communication: Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact effectively with a range of professionals as well as patients, their families, and other caregivers.

 

Mathematical Skills:  Basic math skills.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. 

 

Mental Capabilities:  Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing situations.  Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments.  Ability to problem solve and handles stressful situations

 

Interpersonal:  Must work effectively with physicians with physicians, pharmacists, other nurses, and health care providers.

 

Performance:  Must be self-motivated and self-directed in order to carry out work in the patient’s home and clinic without direct supervision. Can work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines while possessing the upmost professionalism.
