Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Cancer Registrar to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY:
The Cancer Registrar is responsible for managing cancer patient databases for the purpose recording information that may be used to help detect cancer earlier, improve treatments and increase survival rates. They examine medical and pathology records to determine patient eligibility for the cancer registry. Creating abstracts of medical records by translating the medical terminology into standardized codes that record the patients diagnosis and treatment information. Responsible for compiling and reporting data from all the medical facilities that treat a patient. Performs other duties in the facility as deemed necessary by administration.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for abstracting of ACOS-COC defined data elements on all newly diagnosed patients and patients receiving cancer treatment.
- Responsible for timely submission of abstracted information to the Idaho Central Tumor Registry for research purposes and mandatory disease reporting requirements.
- Reviews data for completeness and accuracy. Follows up with data sources as necessary.
- Submit a Quarterly Fiscal Year Workload Summary report indicating workload statistics.
- Develop and edit policies and procedures in conjunction with process improvement procedures.
- Stays current on new protocols, software changes, policies and procedures, regulations and quality assurance.
- Behaves and dresses in a professional and courteous manner consistent a representative of Mountain View Hospital.
- Performs other duties as needed or requested.
