Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team!

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Order, collecting, process routine and specialty testing, and returning results back to doctor. Obtain, process doctors orders, and data entry. Provide good customer service on the phone, patients, doctors and other medical staff. Work well under pressure. Follows clinic & hospital policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure proper patient identification
  2. Follow all hospital and clinic policies and procedures
  3. Ensure proper stocking and ordering of supplies.
  4. Ensure that patients receive appropriate competent and quality clinical care and that customer service meets patient’s expectation.
    1. Adherence by staff to all policy and procedures
    2. Provides age appropriate care
    3. Reporting monitoring and management of patient and staff incidents.
    4. Monitoring and management of patient and physician satisfaction results.
  5. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
  6. Maintain, develop, and utilize professional relationships with a wide range of organizations and specialists.
    1. Maintain effective working relationships between nursing, clerical, medical, and allied health staff.
  7. May perform special tests and report results to other personnel.
  8. Maintains strict quality control for procedures.
  9. Organize requisitions received for collection; maintains records of tests performed, scanning orders and lab results into electronic medical system, print and fax lab reports to ordering doctor.
  10. Maintains Point of Care documents and performs Quality Control Management.
  11. Orients and mentors new staff members
  12. Shows good customer service on the phone and in person to everyone in clinic.
  13. Performs miscellaneous tasks that promote smooth operations.
  14. Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.  Certified Medical Assistant Certification preferred.

 

Experience: Medical Assistant experience preferred

 

Equipment/Technology: Experience with computers and office equipment, required.

 

Language/Communication: The ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual is a plus. Must understand medical terminology.

 

Mathematical Skills: General Math skills.

 

Mental Capabilities: Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments. Must be organized, multi-tasker, and a critical thinker.

 

Interpersonal: Good communication skills, and ability to work well with others. Team player and flexible.

 

Performance: Can work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines. Good customer service skills. Can recognize and understand the complexity and reflex-testing of laboratory complexity.
