Summary: The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will support efforts to maintain and elevate the public image of the Dallas Regional Chamber (DRC) and its strategic priorities. This role will help execute the DRC’s social media content strategy, manage the DRC’s email marketing program, and support all general communications and marketing operations.

Duties and responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The duties and responsibilities include the following, though other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist with identifying social media content opportunities, particularly with relevant news articles, and developing engaging copy that highlights and promotes the achievements of the DRC and the business community
  • Help lead social media engagement, finding where users are mentioning the DRC in their posts and/or commenting on DRC content and developing plans to respond and/or acknowledge
  • Develop social media graphics optimized for engagement and translating the DRC’s blog content to short-form platforms
  • Capture content at DRC events for live social media coverage, showcasing engagement and high-caliber speakers
  • Serve as the project manager for the DRC’s email marketing program, sourcing content from DRC departments, ensuring deadlines are met, and managing the email marketing calendar
  • Serve as a collaborator on email marketing content, identifying opportunities to optimize copy and presentation for engagement based on performance analytics
  • Serve as primary manager of the DRC’s internal employee newsletter, ensuring content is up-to-date and informative
  • Help source images from the DRC’s photo library for social media
  • Support stewardship of the DRC’s budget by pulling digital advertising receipts on a monthly basis for expense reporting
  • Support general communications and marketing activities, including scheduling internal meetings, as assigned by the SVP
  • Provide hands-on support to the DRC Events team on an as-needed basis, typically around the DRC’s three annual marquee events

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to learn Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.

Builds strong and sustainable relationships and trust with members through open and two-way Provides members with accurate, valid, and complete information by using the right methods and resources. Handles member complaints, providing appropriate solutions and alternatives, in a timely manner and follows up to ensure resolution. Goes the extra mile to engage members. Keeps records of member interactions, and inputs them into Weblink.
  • Personal Interactions: Goes above and beyond to respond efficiently and effectively to the needs of members, the DRC team, and all other constituents. Treats everyone with respect, fairness, and empathy. Always presents a positive and enthusiastic image.

Completes job with minimal supervision.

  • Revenue Generation / Membership Growth: As a member of the department, is responsible for the identification, generation, and retention of revenue Fully utilizes all systems in place, including CRM, to ensure all pertinent information about constituents is accurately documented and fully maintained.

  • Time Management: Manages time well and is on time for meetings. Maintains a good record concerning absenteeism and Schedules elective appointments as far in advance as possible, whenever possible, to meet the needs of the DRC workload.
