Job Purpose

Production WIP responsibilities  include analyzing systems, reviewing production work orders to ensure accuracy, completing weekly and monthly production activity reports and resolving inventory balances. Production WIP Supervisor should have excellent oral and written communication skills, organization and time management skills, the ability to deal with many details, the ability to maintain a professional attitude under stressful situations and have knowledge of the principles and processes involved in tracking material. A few other tasks production analysts perform are preparing reports for management, general clerical duties and performing quality checks on finished work.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for following all aspects of company safety rules and procedures including helping informing management of any unsafe conditions.
  • Responsible for daily KPI reports
  • Input/oversee daily production numbers into Oracle (ERP)
  • Responsible for the weekly reconciliation of finished product in WMS and ERP.
  • Provide support and training to new facilities with the implementation of WMS and ERP.
  • Continued implementation of the GB Connected program.
  • Provide support in continuous training of associates in GB Connected Software
  • Support all new platforms or programs implemented by Grupo Bimbo that apply for Manufacturing. 
  • Responsible for identifying, chartering, and leading significant improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for weekly conciliations to validate proper use of WO in all lines.
  • Responsible for weekly conciliation to validate OEE indicator in GB Connected compared to Oracle and WMS.
  • Responsible for weekly conciliations of returns to plant.
  • Provide support during EOM Cartonization process.
  • Conduct routine lean meetings to report current standing and ensure future growth and improvements.
  • Responsible for the preparation of presentations for upper management.
  • Communication with corporate team in Mexico
  • Lead War Room checklist revision.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining platforms (Parsable, Altamira, GB Connected)
  • Support duties of WIP admin, when WIP admin is out
  • Apply different tools such as TPS, 5S, Kanban, Kaizen, Lean, etc. to help the team meet their goals, Manage assigned continuous improvement projects from initiation through to completion according to continuous improvement best practices to identify and implement approved improvements across the Barcel USA organization, Co-lead the Continuous Improvement Strategy and events to permeate in the organization
  • Create KPIs to better monitor performance, Lead in designing new procedures and methods for operational processes, by managing projects and measuring results. This role will work with site leaders to identify, modify, and sustain desired changes including reducing waste and improving inefficiencies, Facilitate multi-day kaizen events & workshops with cross-functional teams ranging from operations to executive leaders
  • Use Structured Problem Solving to find opportunities for improvement, Seek to eliminate waste and streamline processes , Supports the development of capability to change the culture of how we solve problems, Develop and conduct CI training initiatives, Oversee and complete any other assigned continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow all working guidelines instructed by the Barcel USA including the 5’s protocol which is based on keeping the working areas clean and organized.
  • Most production WIP Supervisor work in a casual business office setting around computers. Professionalism is necessary at all times when on the clock.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Compliance with OSHA procedures and legislation.
  • Review and Complete production report; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Analyze Inventory Conciliation reports.
  • Resolves problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions.
  • Compliance with Food Safety and quality Standards such as SQF, FSMA, and HACCP.

Qualifications

WIP Supervisor must have computer technology or accounting and have a technical knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, power Point and Scheduler. Also, WIP Supervisor must be familiar with equipment such as scanners, printers, voice-mail systems, modems, fax machines, copy machines and computers. Experience in product activity control, finance, accounting analysis, material tracking function and manufacturing operations are preferred before landing a position as a production analyst. Production analysts must also be assertive, detail-oriented, and fluent in English and must be able to work independently.
