Description

As a Senior Supply Chain Transportation Manager, you will be a key player in optimizing and managing our transportation network to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of goods. You will oversee transportation operations, develop strategic plans, and work closely with internal teams and external partners to drive improvements and ensure seamless supply chain execution.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement transportation strategies to support business goals and objectives.
  • Analyze current transportation processes and identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Create and manage transportation budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with transportation vendors and carriers.
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal pricing and service quality.
  • Monitor carrier performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
  • Oversee day-to-day transportation operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Coordinate warehousing, distribution, and other supply chain functions to ensure smooth operations.
  • Implement and monitor transportation processes and technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Utilize data and analytics to monitor transportation performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on transportation performance, costs, and key metrics to senior management.
  • Serve as a culture change agent by leveraging influential authority with employees and stakeholders to accelerate program deliverables that may cross geographic and/or functional boundaries. Rate and contracts management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including safety, environmental, and transportation laws.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the transportation network.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of transportation professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and support.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree (MBA or Supply chain oriented).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field. (Desired but required)
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English). Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • PMI certification is desired.
  • TMS knowledge - OTM is a plus.
  • Strong MS Excel skills. 5 years of experience.
  • Cross functional capable (Supply chain, Finance, Marketing, Manufacturing, Sales, Exports, etc.)
  • People-Leadership skills.
  • Experience performing under pressure.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize.
  • Must be able to multitask. Able to work independently and accurately.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, competing deadline-driven environment.
  • Rely on experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
