Description

Objective:

  • To build and lead a highly engaged, best-in-class procurement team within assigned BARCEL USA.
  • Implementation of company-wide procurement strategies and best practices for the region.
  • Work closely with CELBAR, Barcel Mexico and BBU procurement as well as BU senior leadership in pursuit of sustainable reductions in the total cost of goods and services procured, with simultaneous improvements in quality, competitiveness and service while ensuring uninterrupted supply of goods and services.

Key responsibilities

  • Set the overall direction for the team, incorporating applicable industry best practices to create a high engage supply mgt Team
  • Could lead local procurement activities for  non-centralized categories.
  • Work with the relevant stakeholders in the development and execution of procurement strategies, innovation, product launches and new initiatives.
  • Accountable for ensuring the Supply Management team provides the voice of the business and works with the Strategic Sourcing group to tailor category strategies to fit the business
  • Monitor and report material impact of changes vs negotiation and business execution or needs.
  • Build Procurement organizational capability through skill development, coaching and training
  • Drive the creation of risk mitigating actions to avoid uninterrupted supply of goods to the plants
  • Oversee the development and execution of strategies for all the  categories
  • Attract, develop and retain talent base
  • Adopt GB best practices policies and standards within the BU
  • Drive the development and compliance to global policies and regional procedures
  • Drives the process for monitoring and escalating supplier performance issues

  • Effectiveness of product change process (New product introductions, discontinuation strategies, product specification changes etc.).
  • Ensure P2P local process.

  • Proven track record of leading successful procurement teams
  • 5+ years Procurement/Sourcing experience
  • BA required; MBA preferred.
  • Bilingual with strong English Skills
