Description

SUMMARY: To assist in the set up and breakdown of conference meeting rooms according to specific diagrams, event BEOs, and event or meeting requirements.

 

AVAILABILITY: Must be flexible and able to work day shifts, evening shifts, early mornings, weekends and holidays.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete physical setup, cleaning and arrangement of tables, linens, and equipment according to BEO
  • Setup portable bars, cocktail hours, food stations and arrange buffets when necessary
  • Manage banquet linen inventory to ensure enough items are stocked and available
  • Refresh meeting spaces and clean event rooms according to specifications
  • Provide excellent service to all BEOs coming in to the resort
  • Exhibit teamwork to ensure the event is setup in an efficient manner
  • Setup tables, chairs, linens with center pieces, and silverware for all events
  • Assist servers completing their tasks when necessary by arranging plates, running bars, and setting up beverage stations
  • Tear down meeting and event rooms daily including but not limited to stripping the room of all furniture and resetting the room per the BEO
  • Use matching linen colors on all tables checking to be sure that we use either faded or non-faded linens matching on each table
  • Steam or mist table linens with hot water for a smooth and professional appearance
  • Maintain set up schedule to ensure all meeting rooms are set up on time designated function.
  • Take care of all conference equipment and report any need for replacements or new equipment to management
  • Ensure all services to members are provided in a highly professional and efficient manner with strong attention to detail
  • Secure all windows, turn off HVAC, shut off all lights, lock doors and utilize the wood dowels to lock sliding glass doors at the end of each event
  • Attend banquet and pre-event meetings
  • Perform other duties as directed by management

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Listed below are the qualifications that represent the knowledge, skills, and/or ability to perform this job successfully:

  • Must be capable of meeting deadlines and working under pressure
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • 1-2 years of banquet setup or serving experience required
  • Resort and/or hospitality experience preferred

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Must speak and communicate in English
  • Must be able to clearly communicate with guests, management and coworkers

 

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES

  • Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US
  • Valid California Driver License is required
  • Food Handlers Certification required
