SUMMARY:

The Bell Person is responsible for greeting guests upon arrival and departure by assisting with luggage and providing a great guest experience. Must maintain friendly and attentive service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Offers assistance with vehicle doors and luggage upon guest arrival
  • Assist guest with transportation to locations on property by golf cart
  • Deliver guest luggage, packages etc. in a timely manner
  • Complete all items on the daily checklist per the Bell Captain, Manager or Director
  • Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments and personnel
  • Provide assistance to the concierge, front desk, and PBX when needed
  • Must ensure the front drive and lobby are clean, organized, and tidy along with the bell closet
  • Conducts tours of hotel and guest rooms to guests when needed
  • Delivery of various guest and employee amenities and packages throughout hotel as needed
  • Is knowledgeable of all hotel and conference center services and amenities
  • Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve complaints independently
  • Coordinate daily group arrival/departure preparation, special requests, room assignments and guest amenity deliveries
  • Follow up with front office team members on daily shift and individual duties
  • Responsible for maintaining Porte-cochere/lobby appearance while on duty
  • Assist in training new employees
  • Coordinate and assist Front Desk Agents with relocation of guests when necessary
  • Deliver service at a level that exceeds guest expectations
  • Access the hotel property management system (Maestro)
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the Bell Captain or Front Office Manager(s)
  • Attend and participate in all required meetings
  • Ability to act independently with minimal supervision
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the supervisor

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Exceptional organizational skills and customer service skills
  • Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts
  • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public
  • Able to lift, push, and pull heavy objects

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • At least 1 year related hotel/resort industry experience and/or training
  • High school or GED graduate

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, comprehend and provide instructions, both written and verbal
  • Ability to effectively present information to individuals and all sizes of groups (i.e. clients, customers,       guests, associates, managers etc.)
  •  

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficient in Outlook and Internet applications

 

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES

  • Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US
  • Valid California Driver License is required

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment at Resort ranges from winter time lows of 30 degrees to summer time highs to 80+ degrees. While performing these duties the employee may be exposed to outdoor and inclement weather conditions.

  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.

  • Lift 25-50 lbs
