Director of Dietary Services - (CASTLE ROCK, COLORADO)

Brookside Inn Skilled Nursing is seeking a full-time Dietary Manager to join our team of qualified individuals.

Rate of Pay

$65,000 –$70,000 salary per year depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight to the Dietary Department in establishing and maintaining systems that is effective and efficient to operate.
  • Develop and implement dietary and food service policies and procedures to meet residents’ needs and in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Determine the personnel requirements for the dietary department and ensure appropriate staffing to implement dietary and food service policies and procedures.
  • Develop a monitoring system for the dietary and food service department and ensure implementation for compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Supervise the operation of the Dietary department.
  • Supervise preparation of menus to meet residents’ dietary needs.
  • Assist with cooking/kitchen responsibilities as needed.
  • Plan and conduct in-service training programs for Dietary employees and Nursing staff.
  • Act as a liaison between the Dietary Department and the facility’s customers (i.e. residents, families, staff, volunteers, vendors, etc.).
  • Monitor dining process to ensure that residents receive correct diets, staff is practicing optimal sanitation practices, and that good customer is provided for each resident.
  • Review Dietary complaints and grievance reports as directed by the NHA.
  • Follow resident rights at all times.

 

Qualifications

  • 2 Years Long-term care experience
  • 2 Years Management experience
  • Certified Dietary Manager
  • Responsible, patient,  and compassionate
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to assess residents and relate information regarding resident’s condition.
  • Basic computer and typing skills
  • Must have good interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
  • Ability to communicate policies, procedures, regulations, reports, etc., to personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies/personnel
  • Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient care, patient rights, and safety and infection control.
