Job Description

Ram Mount is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled team member to provide technical support to our manufacturing floor as a full-time Injection Molding Process Technician. This position plays a key role through a variety of functions including mold set-up/removal, machine start-up, process parameter establishment and process troubleshooting.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely remove and install plastic injection molds of varying sizes and complexities, including molds utilizing hydraulic cores
  • Consistently produce good parts to time standards using both established processes and by establishing process parameters when necessary
  • Start machines at the beginning of each production day ensuring parts are of good quality
  • Inspect part quality of ongoing jobs and adjust processes to address common part defects such as splay, flash, shorting, jetting, sink, etc.
  • Read / follow work order instructions and make suggestions for work order edits to improve procedures
  • Accurately calculate and record cycle times, shot weights, setup / start-up times, and start-up scrap
  • Safely shut down jobs in preparation for mold changeovers
  • Work with other technicians to problem solve in a team-oriented manner
  • Convey necessary information regarding area of work to supervisors and successive shift counterparts
  • Operate machines to cover break/lunches for other team members as needed

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications

  • Capable of handling an injection molding job from setup through shutdown including troubleshooting process issues
  • Skilled in critical injection molding process parameters (pressure, speed, heat, time, etc.) and how they interrelate in building a process that yields molded parts of consistently high quality
  • General knowledge of plastic injection molding machines and related equipment such as robots, die heaters, hot tip controllers, dryers, and hoppers
  • Experience working with hydraulic systems
  • Experience processing a wide variety of thermoplastic materials
  • Able to provide training in safe machine operation
  • Able to work on your feet in a manufacturing environment 8 hours per day
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • Willing to work overtime and Saturdays when production demands require
  • Well organized, analytical, reliable, and positive work attitude
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Education/Experience

High School diploma required; college or trade schooling preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Hourly Range: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
