Roles, Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Perform daily room and bed inspections
- Escort client to appointments
- Assist in the monitoring and development of resident’s daily independent living skills
- Provide resident welcome kits and toiletry items
- Perform nightly bed counts
- Conduct groups with clients
- Heat and serve meals
- Conflict resolution between residents
- Manage operations desk
- Answer phones when necessary
- Help maintain the cleanliness of the building
- Monitor common areas to ensure proper usage
- Work collaboratively with building staff to assist tenants and ensure tenant safety.

Qualifications/ Educational RequirementsÂ
- High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree preferred
- 1 year of applicable experience in shelter or residential setting
- Passion for working with individuals and families who are in transitional housing
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable working with others
- Ability to maintain accurate records, to prepare and submit all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner Knowledge of DHS requirements and protocols
- Ability to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion
- Must be able to multi task with strong organizational skills
- Food Protection Certificate will be required
- Driver’s License preferred
- Bilingual is a plus

- Prior work experience with homeless/ mentally ill individuals is helpful, but not required
- Computer Literate

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be:Â
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, OneDrive Excel, etc.Â
- Able to use or learn multiple databases including CARES.Â

- Frequent bending, kneeling, walking, climbing, and lifting to 50 lbs.Â

- Facility grounds, work site is in a residential building.Â

This position is classified as a union position under the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Goddard Riverside and the United Service Workers Union Local 74 Collective Bargaining Unit. The union represents employees in the bargaining unit (i.e. Goddard employees in Local 74 union positions). The Collective Bargaining Agreement is a written contract that defines the agreed-upon terms and conditions of employment, including wage increases, paid time off and other benefits, and the grievance process. All employees in Local 74 union positions at Goddard Riverside are subject to and covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Membership in the union includes the collection of union dues on a monthly basis, to be deducted from the member’s Goddard paycheck at a rate to be determined by the union.
