The Facilities Mechanic I is responsible for preventive and routine maintenance of facility equipment, compounding equipment, and facility maintenance including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and paint. This role is to troubleshoot issues, repair failures of compounding and facility equipment, and to ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Maintains and repairs facility and compounding equipment.
- Repairs, installs, and adjusts industrial machinery such as compounding vessels, pumps, grinders, mixers, air compressors, boilers, chillers, vacuum system, dust collection systems, and HVAC.
- Troubleshoots and repairs pneumatic switches, valves, and cylinders.
- Assists in the installation and set-up of new equipment to include electrical, air, and ventilation as needed.
- Assists in the repair, replacement and maintenance of drywall, flooring, ceiling tiles, leaks, plumbing, and other facility maintenance tasks as needed.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance.
- Responds to work order requests in a timely fashion.
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to, Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) (ensuring machinery is off before performing maintenance or repair), hot work, confined spaces work, use of powered industrial machines, etc.
- Assists in troubleshooting electrical (relay logic PLCs), general building electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
