- Bachelor Degree in Exercise and Sport Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management, Administration or related.
- Experience in recreation, fitness, and wellness programing.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Computer literacy with emphasis on spreadsheets and graphics.
- Understanding and ability to work within the mission of the University
- Ability to focus on priorities and strategies
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
- A commitment to professional development
- Experience in working within a highly collaborative manner in order to achieve results that are significant in scope; this includes the ability to multi-task with demanding time frames

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: CPR and First Aid certification required. Nationally recognized group fitness or personal training certification preferred.
Other Qualifications: Must be able to work evenings and weekends occasionally.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel while typing on computer, handling papers, staplers, etc., or when demonstrating/adjusting exercise equipment. Must be able to talk or hear when supervising student workers and assisting users of the Wellness Center. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl when demonstrating proper use of exercise equipment and must occasionally run when coaching intramural sports. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance when setting up, adjusting or demonstrating machines. The employee must frequently lift and/or move equipment weighing more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception in order to help people use machines properly and to coach intramural sports.
