Position Summary:
The Cost Estimator is responsible for leading the estimating effort for Direct Reduction Iron (DRI) industrial plant projects. They are responsible for the development of a thorough and accurate cost estimate including labor, equipment, material, bulks, transportation & logistics, expenses, and other incidentals associated with new plant sales, global solutions and aftermarket projects. DRI plant industrial projects can vary in type, size, complexity and level of risk. The Cost Estimator will have a complete understanding and wide application of principles, concepts, best practices and standards in industrial cost estimating. Responsibilities include significant and detailed interface with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Engineering, Commercial, Procurement, Proposal Engineering, Executive Management, etc.

Frequent interaction with engineering, proposal team, purchasing, project group, and commercial department personnel on matters involving cost estimates related to plant sales, aftermarket, research & development, and/or active projects.

Review and confirm estimates with departmental chiefs, project management, procurement, and the sales team.

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management.
