How You Will Make an Impact

The Business Development Coordinator, in consultation with the Manager, supports the evaluation and development of business deals and initiatives for the organization. This position contributes to effective systems of business management and efficiencies in organization service delivery to its clients. The Business Development Coordinator collaborates with the Manager to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support organizational growth. This position reports to the Business Development Manager or designee.

  • Coordinate deliverables for deals in the business development pipeline.
  • Facilitate the gathering and presentation of research and proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to business development objectives, including new contract applications, renewals, business proposals, plans, implementation, and accountability requirements.
  • Communicate recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Support the business development manager across all active initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams, executive staff, school staff, governing boards, and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Effectively represent the organization and its vision with internal teams, new client prospects, and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of enterprise systems and tools to support new business development.
  • Utilize systems to input data, monitor, rank, and report on the status of new business opportunities.
  • Desire to learn aspects of business development, including business valuation models, financial analysis, legal and governmental perspective, capacity and prioritization, and business plan development.
  • Help produce regular reports across various areas.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and contribute to teambuilding efforts.
  • Perform administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned, which may be changed or modified over time

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES 

  • Ability to utilize data bases to support multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to organize records, archive and retrieve records effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of people including Organization executives and staff, external stakeholders, school staff and governing boards.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate problem solving skills, while maintaining diplomacy, courtesy, professionalism, and a customer service attitude.
  • Ability to meet business needs and reach company goals.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects using organization tools and systems.
  • Ability to prioritize work, strong organizational skills, attention to details, and initiative to improve processes.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing assignments and deadlines while being flexible and adaptable.
  • Strong skills in data collection, entry, and reporting
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for client interactions, proposals, and internal updates

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree or two years equivalent work experience demonstrating applicable skills in a relevant industry or discipline. required. Equivalent experience is included in and not separate from total years of professional experience.
  • 3 years demonstrated experience in supporting, facilitating, participating in business operations or business development preferred.
  • Proficiency in Customer Relations Management tools and other business development software preferred.
  • Experience in charter school operations desired.
  • Experience using database systems and or SAS software.
  • Proficient level of skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other technology applications
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to 50% performance of job, duties is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Vision: Ability to read small print and view a computer screen for prolong periods, prepare, or inspect documents and operate office equipment.
  • Hearing: Ability to hear average or typical conversations and receiving ordinary information.
  • Speech: Ability to be understood in face-to-face communication, in person or remote, to speak with level of proficiency and volume to be understood over a telephone or computer.
  • Mental Demands: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret, and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records. Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work. Understand how to manage stress. high workflow management, high project coordination, and high people engagement.
  • Upper Body Mobility: Ability to use fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together, use hands to grasp, and manipulate small objects; twist and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head.
  • Strength: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Environmental Requirements: Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors. Prolonged period sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Work in a low to moderate noise environment with frequent deadline pressures.
