Clear Credential: $79,500/year - $100,700/year
Preliminary Credential: $68,900/year
Intern Credential: $66,144/year

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The individual and Small Group Instructor instructs and assesses assigned students in a personalized instructional environment, working with individuals or small groups. This position will collaborate with the supervising teacher, school administration and other school faculty to ensure student retention and academic success.

  • Provide supplemental instruction to students using approved curriculum
  • Responsible to meet California Teaching Standards/HQT/NCLB Compliance
  • Monitor and administer testing to all students upon completion of courses
  • Participate in, proctor, and supervise state and school-mandated testing following school policies and procedures for test security
  • Accept, carefully review and evaluate homework and online work, providing timely feedback to students
  • Be available to student and/or parent at the scheduled time
  • Coordinate with the supervising teacher on missed appointments, missed assignments, and supplemental instruction needs
  • Assist the student in finding additional resources when necessary
  • Discipline students when appropriate
  • Keep all student work neat and organized
  • Enter data in School Information System
  • Perform tutoring support
  • Complete yearly academic plans that correspond to upcoming State standards
  • Serve as a substitute teacher as needed
  • Attend all staff meetings and assigned professional development activities
  • Contribute to teacher-based teams, professional learning communities and/or committees as assigned
  • Attend graduation ceremonies and participate in other school events
  • Adherence to attendance policies
  • Report necessary absences as soon as the need is known
  • Prepare documentation for a substitute or other teacher as needed
  • Report to work on time and in dress code
  • Administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time

 

Qualifications

 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

  • Knowledge in a variety of educational programs
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Record keeping skill

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid State of California Teaching Credential
  • Meet highly qualified requirements of the position
  • Teaching experience; experience in a diverse setting preferred
  • Proficient in student information systems applications
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office(Word, Excel, Email)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mental Demands: high workflow management, high project coordination
  • Finger Dexterity: using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together
  • Talking: especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly
  • Average Hearing: able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
  • Average Visual Abilities: ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery
  • Physical Strength: sedentary work. Sitting most of the time, and occasionally exerts up to 10 lbs. of force (almost all office jobs)
  • Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required
  • Working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures
