Within a therapeutic residential care setting, MYSI provides case management services for stabilization and family reunification, life skills development, recreational activities, and weekly support groups for clients aged 14 to 21.  

 

Position Overview: 

As an HR Generalist you will play a key role in providing day-to-day HR support, recruitment, coordinating benefits administration, maintaining employee records, assisting with compliance-related tasks, and ensuring effective use of MYSI’s HRIS system. You will collaborate closely with the Hiring Managers in order to recruit qualified applicants to align with DCFS requirements and uphold HR best practices in alignment with MYSI’s mission and values. 

The ideal candidates will possess strong organizational abilities, demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, have prior experience in HR administration, and exhibit a clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive employee information.

 

Essential Functions:  

  • Use HRIS/ATS platform, Paycom to manage candidate pipelines, monitor recruitment metrics, and maintain accurate documentation for audit readiness. 

  • Coordinate all aspects of the hiring process including job postings, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and extending offers in compliance with DCFS hiring standards. 

  • Coordinate or attend local hiring fairs and college recruitment events (virtually or in-person) to promote open roles and represent the organization’s mission and values. 

  • Assist with onboarding, offboarding, and maintaining employee personnel files. 

  • Support benefits administration including open enrollment, employee inquiries, and vendor communication. 

  • Provide first-level support to employees regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures. 

  • Assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. 

  • Maintain documentation and tracking for required training, certifications, and background checks. 

  • Assist with performance evaluation processes and employee relations support. 

  • Generate HR reports as needed and help track employee engagement metrics. 

  • Coordinate staff training sessions and assist with scheduling interviews when needed. 

  • Generate and distribute regular hiring updates and compliance-related recruitment reports to HR leadership. 

  • Participate in team meetings and HR strategic planning discussions. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

What you will bring to MYSI Corporation 

Skills and Requirements: 

  • Ability to work part-time (25–30 hours/week); hybrid schedule. 

  • 60hrs or more college credits.  

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of HR Generalist or related experience required. 

  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. 

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. 

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). 

  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail in managing employee records, benefits administration, and compliance documentation to ensure accuracy and data integrity. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven team. 

  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment. 

  • Handle sensitive and confidential materials. 

  • Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task. 

 

Background Check Requirements:  

  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check as required by 89 Ill. Adm. Code 385 (Background Checks) and submit to fingerprinting and meet transportation requirements. 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.  

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field.  

  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred 

  • Experience using Applicant Tracking and HRIS systems such as Paycom preferred. 

  • Benefits administration experience strongly preferred.
