Position Summary

The Development Coordinator, under the guidance of the Senior Director of Development, manages the all administrative aspects of donor management for the Financial Development department. Additionally, the coordinator supports various fundraising initiatives, outreach efforts, special events, and development activities across the association.


Essential Functions

  1. Responsible for management, oversight and quality control of all financial development databases including but not limited to Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, OneCause and Daxko.
  2. Functions as the lead pledge administrator for the Association, coordinating with Accounting the accurate entering of gifts into donor records.
  3. Responsible for the timely creation and distribution of all pledge invoices on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as appropriate and necessary.
  4. Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive donor stewardship plan and process, including, but not limited to: writing and updating gift acknowledgements and thank you letters on a monthly basis and as necessary, managing and updating mailing lists on a monthly basis, and supporting other stewardship goals.
  5. Provides high-level administrative support to include planning, set-up, and post event follow-up for the YMCA Annual Giving Campaign, annual Inspiration Breakfast, and other Association events, including, but not limited to Triangle Society Reception, Heritage Club Dinner. Responsibilities include assisting volunteer campaigners, event volunteers, donors, prospects and other community members with YMCA related questions.
  6. Assists with developing publishing, and sending out event invitations by way of mail and email when necessary.
  7. Responsible for providing information to assist in updating monthly Key Performance Indicators and metric reports for the Senior Director of Development. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Experience with donor databases, gift acknowledgments, and special event support.
  • Excellent customer service skills and extraordinary attention to detail.
  • Outstanding time management with the ability to prioritize, organize, and complete work independently.
  • Strong written and oral communications and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience in coordinating and implementing small and large functions and events.
  • Must be a team player with an eye for detail, flexibility, good judgment, the ability to learn quickly and handle multiple, concurrent tasks and assignments.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
  • Ability and willingness to work evening and weekend events when required.
