Description

We are looking for an RN to work in our day treatment behavioral health program.  Full-time daytime hours, Monday through Friday

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide nursing care and services to a youth and adolescent population with emotional, behavioral and physical needs using the nursing process (assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating). You will report to the Nursing Manager and you will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform nursing assessment, review of systems, vital signs, review of medical conditions with parent/guardian and primary care providers.
  • Attends medication reviews with provider and clinical team
  • Review lab and test results, reporting critical values to providers
  • Assisting provider with medication management including ordering medications and obtaining prior authorizations
  • Dispense medications; report/discuss observed side effects or other concerns with consulting psychiatrist
  • Provide client and family education regarding medications and treatments
  • Collaborate with our staff regarding concerns and behaviors
  • Communicate with medical director/providers regarding changes in client’s health/behavior
  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Medication Review meetings
  • Nursing and medical documentation using EHR
  • Update discharge planning needs
  • Other duties as assigned within scope of practice and based on agency needs

Requirements and Education:

  • RN Licensed in New York State
  • Registered Nurse 1-2 years’ experience preferred
  • Experience working with youth and adolescent population desired
