As a Quality Management Generalist, you will perform highly confidential and sensitive Quality Management tasks including investigations into alleged incidents of client abuse and neglect, known or suspected occurrences of non-compliance, and potential breaches of protected information. Also, you will support the Quality Management department in a variety of tasks, including program and administrative audit, licensing and accrediting reviews, and data collection and reporting. You will report to the Quality Management Manager and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct internal investigations into
- Allegations of abuse and neglect;
- Known or suspected incidents of non-compliance with regulation, statute, policy or other business rules; and
- Potential breaches of protected information including PHI as defined in HIPAA statute and PII as defined in the NYS SHIELD Act.
- Investigations include coordinating and conducting interviews, collecting and evaluating evidence, completing investigation summaries for review, and recommending and tracking the completing of corrective action.
- Communicate with program leaders and external regulators to complete assigned tasks.
- Draft audit protocols based on regulation, statute, contract condition or other governing rules.
- Conduct programmatic or administrative audits as assigned. Summarize findings in a report.
- Participate in external audit processes and duties related to agency accrediting activities
- Create and maintain spreadsheets to progress town completing assigned tasks and for tracking and trending relevant data.
- Draft agency policy, procedure and protocol.
- Complete other Department tasks as assigned.
QM Generalist II:
- Responsibilities as detailed above “QM Generalist”.
- Perform independent research of regulations and guidance, best practices, and existing community models on a variety of risk management topics, as assigned.
- Independently develop program guidance, memory aides, training tools and communications for QM leadership review; to assist QM Management in the implementation of annual workplan and corrective action.
- Provide training to program staff on a variety of risk management topics; in collaboration with QM Management, as well as independently, at times.
Requirements and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience or Associate’s degree with 4 years of experience.
