Description

The Residential Staff Manager is responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations of a residential living unit or safety and security.

 Performance Standards

  1. Implement the decisions of your immediate supervisor or managers within your chain of command.
  2. Provide a positive role model for the client s at all times through appearance, attitude, and behavior.
  3. Exhibit sensitivity to the clients’ cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  4. Attend all in-services, General Staff Meetings, and meetings called by their supervisor.
  5. Work harmoniously and effectively with co-workers.
  6. Accomplish objectives and consistently produce satisfactory work.
  7. Is faithful in reporting to work, staying on the job, and helping to meet institutional emergencies.
  8. Work a multitude of different shifts to provide supervision, guidance, and feedback.
  9. When working school hours, be available to assist with clients as needed.
  10. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  11. Comply with department guidelines, the Organization and Personnel Guidelines, and all expectations set by Gibault’s administration.
  12. Coordinate and develop ongoing in-service training for staff in cooperation with the Client Care Manager.
  13. Prepare staff schedules and monitor staff attendance.
  14. Participate in the selection, hiring, and orientation process for all staff in your area of responsibility.
  15. Maintain the physical condition of facilities in your area of responsibility.
  16. Provide leadership and direction to staff through daily supervision, individual supervisory sessions, on-going training, and regularly scheduled meetings.
  17. Directly supervise Lead Youth Treatment Specialists, Youth Treatment Specialists, and Youth Treatment Workers.
  18. Oversee the implementation of youth programming and daily activities as developed and written.
  19. Ensure the department’s compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies
  20. Attend scheduled court hearings, team meetings, case conferences, or any other scheduled meeting as needed.
  21. Ensure that service delivery is performed according to the organization’s mission, policies and procedures, and service philosophy.
  22. Help guide and support staff by enhancing their ability to perform their job responsibilities by teaching and modeling technical knowledge and skills, work management and communication skills, and conflict management.
  23. Take regular inventory of own emotional well-being.  Develop and adhere to a self-care plan to promote wellness and prevent burnout.
  24. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • One of the following: (1) non-specific Bachelor's Degree and 1 or more years of experience in a related field preferred, (2) two years of college and two years of work experience or (3) high school diploma and four years of work experience
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Consent to and pass pre-employment background checks.
