Position Summary:

The function of this team is maintaining production and supply of SDS-PAGE gels to our internal customers in the PSS division of the company. This ranges from collecting, cleaning, processing, and preparing components for productions of these gels. Manufacturing of our Comet line products is another primary function of this team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow SOP’s for gel casting and assembly.
  • Deliver and collect gel supplies from various locations within the site.
  • Maintain stock solutions for department.
  • Record and maintain inventory of local raw materials for manufacturing.
  • Manufacture various components for the Comet product line in a clean room setting.
  • Maintains documentation of laboratory methods.
  • Cleans and maintains general work areas.
  • Upholds teamwork efforts and a pleasant work environment to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follows guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance to the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are required along with computer entry and/or typing skills are desirable.  Must be able to work in a fast pace environment, multi task, and have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

  • Knowledge of general lab equipment and use of scales and measuring.
  • Knowledge of safety and company rules and policies.
  • Skills in establishing effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Skills in problem solving and critical thinking, including the ability to identify and appropriately evaluate an alternative course of action.
  • Ability to plan, organize and multi-task to complete assignments in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both oral and written.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and perform at a high-level accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to work hours that conform to required shift hours which may include weekends, swing shifts, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain consistency and accuracy.
  • Ability to make effective decisions and execute an appropriate course of action considering all relevant variables.
  • Ability to negotiate by collaborating with others to arrive at a conclusion using compromise, persuasion, rational, and diplomacy. 
  • Ability to handle sensitive and proprietary information with discretion and confidentiality.
