JOB FUNCTION SUMMARY

  1. Manage production planning, materials movement, and delivery schedule
  2. Monitor and maintain inventory stocking position
  3. Manage delivery, pricing, and quality of purchased product and outside operations
  4. Establish and monitor purchase cost reduction programs

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Generate monthly shipment forecasts
  2. Supervise production/planning/purchasing through MRP II system
  3. Monitor capacity planning and take corrective actions when necessary
  4. Maintain departmental budgets
  5. Monitor customer on-time shipments
  6. Responsible for scheduling priority customer orders
  7. Negotiate all pricing with CGC suppliers
  8. Maintain complete pattern lists at all foundries
  9. Advise Finance of cost changes
  10. Assume responsibility for interface with functional areas at Cleveland Gear Company and all supplierSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Reports:

  1. Production Planners
  2. Buyers
  3. Stockroom, shipping and receiving personnel

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications (Experience, Education or Certification)

  1. Five (5) to ten (10) years experience in MRP systems or equivalent
  2. Five (5) years experience in manufacturing environment
  3. B.S.I.M. – MBA preferred
  4. A.P.I.C.S./C.P.M. certification preferred
  5. Five (5) years experience in supervision and/or management
  6. Five (5) years experience in purchasing

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school graduate
  2. Five (5) years in manufacturing environment with two (2) years in production planning/materials management experience
  3. Two (2) years in supervision/management responsibilities
  4. Five (5) years experience in purchasing
