American Trading International, Inc (ATI) is currently seeking an Associate Logistics Manager to join our Logistics team in Los Angeles, CA.

(ATI) is a service-oriented export trading company providing domestic and international companies the opportunity to import and export products to new and existing markets.  ATI exports USA food and beverages to over 80 markets worldwide.  

 

We are looking for an Associate Logistics Manager. The Associate Logistics Manager will supervise a small team of Logistics Assistants, Coordinators, and Senior Coordinators that support operational functions (freight, SAP data entry, export docs, claims) within the Logistics Department.  This role interacts with other Associate Managers, Managers, and the Director in overseeing international exports from America to various customers overseas. This entails collaborating with domestic suppliers and manufacturers, domestic trucking companies and warehouses, international shipping carriers, and ATI customers.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Manage air or ocean shipments for export transactions from origin to delivery.
  • Track daily order progress using company software and standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Ensure timely and efficient order execution and provide regular updates to all parties involved.
  • Prepare Bill of Lading instructions and file AES reports.
  • Responsible for communicating with customers regarding order information, export shipment schedule, tentative delivery times, and ability to address and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Process, prepare, and finalize export documentation in compliance with transaction instructions and customer requirements, maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Schedule bookings with shipping lines and ensure accurate work orders are processed.
  • Work directly with shipping lines and trucking companies to arrange shipment schedules for assigned export shipments.
  • Review and audit bills and invoices from manufacturers, truckers, and shipping lines.
  • Manage and delegate assignments to members of your team.
  • Coach and assist team members to meet expectations of their roles and validate their work productivity. 
  • Provide feedback and coaching to team members on a weekly basis.
  • Manage the workflow assigned to team members to ensure fair and even work distribution.
  • Utilize management tools and reporting for key performance indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in logistics and/or supply chain, specifically managing export operations, with advanced knowledge of logistics and export documentation requirements and procedures, shipping lines and trucking companies commonly used in the industry.
  • Must be highly dependable and have the ability to complete tasks on time, ensuring prompt delivery from port to port.
  • Ability to supervise multiple projects and staff.
  • Ability to escalate issues appropriately to Managers, Directors, and Vice Presidents. 
  • Ability to manage stress in a complex environment and have the ability to remain calm under pressure. 
  • Ability to show leadership and poise on challenging logistics questions.
  • A positive attitude and a proactive approach to work is essential.
  • Must be competent in MS office applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Past management experience is preferred. 

 

What you’ll be paid:
Commensurate with experience, you will be paid $66,560 – $93,100 annually.
