The Cybersecurity Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding our organization's valuable data and IT infrastructure from cyber-related threats and intrusions. The person in this role is responsible for overseeing cybersecurity programs and environments; the prevention, detection, and remediation of cybersecurity threats and intrusions; cybersecurity policies and monitoring protocols; and leading the development of a security plan, with an emphasis on technical infrastructure and long-term risk mitigation.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

- Ensuring security updates are current across all systems
- Ensuring best practices across IT security programs
- Analyzing network and server systems to ensure the most secure approach is being employed
- Ensuring security tools are running properly on company networks and devices
- Research into emerging threats and determining enterprise-wide information security standards
- Developing systems for specialized security requirements based on specific company needs
- Optimizing systems to ensure the network is supportive and responsive
- Administer all security programs such as email security applications, network security, SOC, Cloud, and endpoint devices for access controls and data governance.
- Presenting findings, reports, and solutions to management
- Monitoring end-user devices and implementing the best security protocols
- Develops cybersecurity awareness training programs for employees, contractors, and users; and facilitates cyber preparedness exercises
- Develops and implements appropriate safeguards to ensure system resiliency
