Position Summary
This position is a Registered Nurse (RN) who performs work and supervision in an assigned geographical area for multiple facilities and serves as a superuser role model for other nurses and unlicensed clinical staff. This nurse works with the established company protocols and by the direction and guidance of Nursing Leadership. The Clinical Lead RN supports and collaborates with operations team on clinical aspects. This role promotes quality bedside nursing care in the outpatient setting and leads by coaching and mentoring core group of clinical staff. In addition, this position provides support for staffing, budget compliance, and assisting in the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work environment. The Clinical Lead RN works with a multi-disciplinary team to assure the highest quality care while focused on the physiological, psychosocial and safety needs of each patient and their families.

- Performs required duties in the medical center at multiple designated locations while supporting the clinical team with emergent patient care needs
- Performs training reinforcement, competency evaluations for new and established staff, and assist in clinical interviews to ensure candidates poses basic clinical safety skills
- Establishes effective, two-way communication with interdepartmental staff and leaders as a liaison between operations and clinical teams.
- Serves as role model to staff, reinforcing principles of service orientation and ensuring that the focus is always on improving patient care and/or services, effectively resolve concerns, complaints or conflict and channeling concerns according to appropriate procedures.
- Ensures a safe and effective working environment; assist in monitoring the department safety plan, regulatory required safety guidelines, including infection control, emergency kits and equipment, patient identification, and clinical errors preventions
- Monitors compliance with policies, procedures, Standards of Practice and performs associated actions upon non-compliance after reporting to Nursing Leadership (i.e., focal point review requirements, disaster plan, in services, influenza immunization, timely termination consulting)
- Assist in the yearly policies and procedures required review as designated by Nursing Leadership
- Assists in the maintenance of department budget and cost-effectiveness by supervising new and routine clinical supply orders, vaccines and other expenses in addition to support routine vaccine audits
- Assists with staffing by upkeeping the per diem pool contacts and coverage calendar for Urgent Cares and Primary Care in their area.
- Supports company change initiatives, maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures.
- Participates in state/national nursing leadership meetings on monthly basis and performs local staff superuser meetings
- Flexible in work schedule and location changes as needed
- Communicates to Nursing Leadership the performance status of their areas productivity, policy compliance and staff development
- Maintains effective and efficient use of equipment and supplies, ensures that clinical equipment is functional and reports global needs for replacements and repairs
- Must portray excellent interpersonal and listening skills, knowledge of state scope of practices of Nursing and of the Unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP)
- Maintain standards for professional nursing practice
- Must always be able to maintain patient confidentiality
- Must always have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
- Must demonstrate ability to work independently while also as a team to achieve goals
- This position requires travelling most of the time
- Assist in company health fairs and events

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands to operate tools and equipment and must be able to exert regularly up to 10 pounds of force, frequently exert 30 pounds of force and occasionally exert 50 pounds of force to constantly perform the essential job functions. Must be able to push and pull (on wheelchair) 100 to 350 pounds, frequently over considerable distance the employee will be frequently required to reach with hands and arms, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to noise; there may be sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
Required Education and Experience
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
- 2 years outpatient setting experience
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), eClinicalWorks is a plus
- Proficient software computer skills to include WORD, EXCEL and other Microsoft Office programs
- Active and clear State Registered Nurse License
- CPR-BLS Required
