Position Summary
The Radiology Technologist Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative and applies his/her judgment to produce necessary documentation for interpretation for the prescribed exam.

- Assumes responsibility for the cleanliness of the radiology room, dark room, workstations and equipment.
- Will be flexible and understanding with patients.
- Will consult with physician when encountering the need of immediate medical attention for the patient.
- Will initiate the transportation stat or urgent exams for interpretations.
- Will ensure that proper levels of stock inventory of related supplies are maintained.
- Will ensure that regularly scheduled maintenance and cleaning are performed.
- Will keep abreast of new procedures, techniques and applications.
- Responsible for continuing education and professional development.
- Documents all exams performed in Technicians Log.
- Assures that all exams are complete interpretation prior to leaving the center.
- Responsible for proper filing and maintaining of radiology records.
- Consult with Center Administrator in matters of scheduling, work methods and other related issues.
- Advises administration personnel of any problems with equipment
- Compile daily work and prepare for courier to deliver to radiologist office
- Follow HIPPA regulations at all times
- Dosimeter badge must be worn by tech at all times and monthly tech signature of Dosimeter Report Acknowledged.
- Technician will use typewriter for demographic info to be typed using flash cards (patient ID card) on films.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands to operate tools and equipment and must be able to exert regularly up to 10 pounds of force, frequently exert 30 pounds of force and occasionally exert 50 pounds of force to constantly perform the essential job functions. The employee will be frequently required to reach with hands and arms, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is subject to environmental conditions; protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to noise; there may be sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent 2. Must have a valid ARRT certification.
- Must have good knowledge of radiology equipment and techniques
- Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- CPR Certificate preferred
- Previous experience in a diagnostic facility or hospital required preferred
- Relevant or any other job-related vocational coursework.
