Key Area: Stewardship, Engagement, and Solicitation of Assigned Portfolio Donors
- Effectively steward a portfolio of individual and institutional donors who give $1,000 or more annually, using data-driven analysis to target those within the pool who have demonstrated propensity and a capacity for greater giving.
- Work in conjunction with the Donor Relations and Donor Services teams, plan and implement appropriate programs for donor education, engagement, and stewardship to include, but not limited to, regular written touchpoints and/or impact reports, invitations to group events (including tours), volunteer experiences, and other stewardship efforts.
- Work collaboratively with Donor Research Analyst and other members of Donor Relations team to identify potential middle/major gifts or legacy giving candidates and move them into relationships with the appropriate Donor Relations Officer, depending on their respective area of focus and expertise.
Key Area: Strategic Planning
- Track activities and special touches for donors in donor software.
- Create individual goals for each person in the assigned portfolio.
- Partners with other Donor Relations Officers on prospective mid/major donors or legacy giving candidates.
- Work with Donor Research Analyst and Director of Donor Services to generate reports that contribute to the achievement of strategic plan objectives as well as the effectiveness of strategic plan.
- Develop strategies for engaging participants and volunteers as possible mid/major supporters of the ministry, in conjunction with Events Team and Volunteer Ministry.
Key Area: Donor Engagement and Development Strategy
- Develop and implement stewardship strategies, including formulating and producing various materials at enhancing donor engagement and loyalty.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Donor Services to maintain accurate donor information in the organization's software systems, ensuring data integrity, and analyze performance metrics related to mid/major donors, including attrition, retention, growth rates, and average gift amounts.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on all types of giving opportunities offered by Wheeler Mission, including estate planning, gifts of stock, and asset donations, providing guidance and support to donors as needed.
- Effectively communicate priorities to donors and occasionally create offers and proposals to be submitted to donors to secure gifts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1+ years of successful development/marketing/sales experience preferred.
Technical/Software Knowledge:
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Previous experience with constituent relationship management (CRM) software tools.
- Previous experience in donor software and data analysis.
- Understanding of nonprofit fund development process and theory preferred.

Physical Requirements: To perform the essential job functions of this position, a candidate must be able to:
- Type and operate standard office equipment.
- Perform normal business activities.
- Work in an office setting with heavy computer use, as well as outside in various weather conditions including inclement weather if necessary.
Other Requirements for Employment
- This is a full-time 40-hour position. Typical work hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. but must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays. Position is eligible to work from home.
- Assist with donor events such as the Dash4Shelter, and other donor events.
- Travel is primarily local during a business day with travel to events and WM Indianapolis facilities as required.
