Job Summary:  The Sprinkler Systems Seller is responsible for selling fire sprinkler system products and solutions in the commercial and industrial markets, while also understanding customer needs to provide tailored fire protection recommendations. This role is accountable for developing market awareness of fire protection systems, prospecting for major sales opportunities, and building a strong customer base.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate sales of fire sprinkler systems, including wet pipe, dry pipe, pre-action, and deluge systems, for commercial and industrial markets.
  • Develop market awareness of various fire sprinkler technologies, prospecting for major installation projects and developing a strong customer base.
  • Stay informed and up to date on Hiller products, systems, and technologies.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers and analyze industry trends regarding NFPA 13 changes, advancements in sprinkler head designs, and emerging fire risks requiring sprinkler protection.
  • Generate leads to grow customer base by actively prospecting and networking with general contractors, architects, and facility managers involved with sprinkler system installations.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to customers on fire sprinkler system types, NFPA 13 codes requirements, and local sprinkler installation standards.
  • Understand customer fire protection requirements and recommend the most suitable sprinkler system solutions based on occupancy classification and hazard analysis.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and demonstrations on various sprinkler systems, including hydraulic calculations, sprinkler head options, and system components.
  • Collaborate with fire protection engineers to create customized sprinkler system designs for complex building layouts or unique hazard areas.
  • Prepare and submit detailed sprinkler system proposals, including system specifications, pricing, contractual terms, negotiating with customers to secure installation projects.
  • Submit regular sales reports and forecasts for sprinkler system project to management.
  • Achieve sales targets, fulfill revenue quotas and contribute to the overall growth of the organization.
  • Provide exceptional technical customer service, addressing concerns about sprinkler system performance, maintenance, or code compliance promptly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; however, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
  • NICET and/or OEM certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience selling Fire Protection Systems, with consistent and proven pattern of sales success in the target market.
  • Candidates must possess strong communication and customer relationship skills and have basic ability to design and provide cost estimates for fire protection systems.
  • Proven knowledge of fire protection market, its major customers/users, major competitors, and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs and provide appropriate solutions, including basic design and estimates of fire protection systems
  • Proven track record of direct sales with marketing, strong prospecting, selling, negotiation and sales closing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and goal driven.
  • Able to travel to customer sites and attend industry events.
