Job Summary: The Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring the effective leadership and operational success of the Service Department.  The manager will provide both strategic and tactical guidance, to achieve financial, operational and growth objectives, while keeping customer satisfaction a key priority. Key Performance metrics will include profitability, growth, employee engagement and overall customer satisfaction.

 

Pay Range:  $100,000-$125,000 annually plus incentive

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operational & financial performance of divisional service department, focusing heavily on operational leadership, business growth and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and manage a team of fire and life safety system inspectors, technicians, coordinators and supporting staff, providing leadership, guidance, and support.
  • Identify operational process improvements and efficiencies, to enhance service delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance remain core principles of the service operations team.
  • Manage and coordinate daily operations of the department, including inspections team, scheduling and execution, manpower utilization, material and tool procurement, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain steady communication with Branch or General Manager, reporting on team performance, scheduling, manpower, and team development.
  • Conduct routine ride-a-longs with field Technicians for the purpose of training and improving customer care, quality control, work efficiency, work safety, product and service up-sales.
  • Review inspection reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations and company standards
  • Work closely with service deficiency sellers to ensure estimates are produced accurately and timely
  • Provide training and mentorship to service team personnel, ensuring their compliance with safety protocols, industry standards, and company guidelines
  • Assist in sales and pricing with customers and end users. Maintaining routine communication with clients to ensure customer satisfaction remains a top priority.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and schedule. Resolve any issues or challenges that arise during construction that could jeopardize scheduled completion.
  • Prepare, review, manage and submit all project documentation including: RFIs, change orders, T&M pricing
  • Conduct routine safety inspections to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and take necessary corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the field team, troubleshoot installation and system issues, and ensure proper functioning of all fire and life safety systems.
  • Other duties as required.


 

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in managing fire & life safety system installations, inspections, testing and repairs - preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
  • Excellent project management abilities, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Solid understanding of occupational health and safety standards and the ability to ensure compliance throughout the construction process.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of NFPA code requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and outdoor settings.
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as needed.
