Job Summary:  The Fire Alarm Manager will manage all aspects of the fire alarm system installation and field coordination, including the oversight and management of all construction and installation activities.  The Fire Alarm manager is also responsible for leading a team of Superintendents, Foreman, sales, and Fire Alarm Technicians to ensure that all projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget.

 

Pay Range:  $90,000-$120,000 annually

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute fire alarm system construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, design drawings, local building codes and safety regulations.
  • Manage and oversee the work of field technicians, foreman, superintendents, subcontractors, and other personnel involved in fire alarm construction. Provide guidance and leadership to all field support personnel.
  • Assist in sales and pricing with clients & electrical contractors, end users and developers.  Maintaining routine communication with clients and GCs to ensure customer satisfaction remains a top priority.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and schedule. Resolve any issues or challenges that arise during construction that could jeopardize scheduled completion.
  • Provide site visit documentation and progress reports to divisional leadership, project management team, designers, and field support personnel as needed.
  • Prepare, review, manage and submit all project documentation including: RFIs, change orders, T&M pricing sheets, field bulletins, extra tickets, etc.
  • Prospect and cultivate new relationships, gaining an understanding of our clients’ needs within  fire alarm while securing sales opportunities.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, allocate manpower resources effectively, and ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and divisional leadership to understand project requirements, address concerns, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and take necessary corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Review contracts for interpretation of inclusions/exclusions for construction installation activities
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to fire alarm systems, and incorporate them into project management practices.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the field team, troubleshoot installation and system issues, and ensure proper functioning of installed fire alarm systems.
  • Prepare and submit project reports, documentation, and other required deliverables to management and clients.
  • Support Pre-Construction activities as needed, including specification review, submittals, site surveys, project walk throughs, etc.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications and/or extensive hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Limited Energy (Low Voltage) Electrician’s License a plus
  • Specialty Administrator’s License a plus
  • Possess a minimum of NICET II in Fire Alarms.  NICET III preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in managing fire alarm system construction projects, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, including NFPA codes and regulations, electrical wiring, circuitry, and control panels.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of technicians and subcontractors.
  • Excellent project management abilities, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Solid understanding of occupational health and safety standards and the ability to ensure compliance throughout the construction process.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer software and tools used in project management and fire alarm system design.
  • Knowledge of NFPA code requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities

 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and outdoor settings.
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as needed.
