Job Summary:  Electrical Technicians are responsible for the maintenance, testing, repair, and installation of electronic equipment and associated components using product specifications and standard diagnostic procedures.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • Prior Marine/Offshore Fire Protection Experience
  • Good mechanical and electrical skills, along with experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment and the skill to perform layout and electrical equipment installations.
  • Knowledge of electrical theory, marine wiring practices, and the ability to read cable and wire color codes to place wires with precision and hook-up required.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, schematic diagrams, and use electrical test equipment and hand and power tools.
  • Working knowledge of test equipment. Must have the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and tools with assistance weighing up to 300 lbs.
  • Must comprehend written and verbal instructions and hear warning signals, read and comprehend safety instructions, regulations, and warnings.
  • Knowledge of basic safety standards with the ability to learn codes and regulations associated with marine fire protection.
  • Effective customer service and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computer programs such as Word, Excel, & Outlook and the ability to work on tablet/phone-based applications.
  • Good time-management skills 

Other: 

  • MUST have minimum high school diploma/GED
  • MUST have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to work full time hours, with the possibility of unusual schedule hours as needed, along with overtime hours as needed, sometimes on short notice.
  • Travel may be needed, including international travel

 

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and outdoor settings, which can potentially expose employees to noise, dust, heat stress, thermal stress, low light conditions, heights, etc.
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as needed, which would require use of fall protection equipment and other safety devices
  • Capable of using hand and power tools, including specialty tools resulting in cutting, grinding, drilling, fastening and other methods resulting in torque, vibration, noise, etc.
