Junior Enrollment Counselor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Junior Enrollment Counselor, you are an extension of a traditional or non-traditional enrollment counselor and oftentimes the first point of contact to prospective students at Southeastern University. In this role, you will be assigned to an enrollment counselor whom you will assist in day to day tasks, including but not limited to, phone calls, emails, and text communication with prospective students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

(OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED) 

  • Assist admission staff with daily responsibilities. 
  • Communicate with prospective students via phone calls, emails, and mailings.
  • Contact students about application status and any missing items. 
  • Listen to and respond to voicemails, when needed. 
  • Answer emails as designated by admission staff. 
  • Mail information to students, when requested. 
  • Record all correspondence in Salesforce. 
  • Input inquiry cards into CRM. 
  • Assist with P-Card allocations. 
  • Maintain communication with the admission counselor during travel season. 
  • Assist and greet campus visitors at the front desk. 
  • Assist with Visit Events. 
  • Work with the Director of Enrollment to improve systems and processes. 
  • Meet with the Director of Enrollment at least once a semester.

Qualifications

EDUCATION   

 

Required Education:

High School/GED

 

Preferred Education:

Some college

 

EXPERIENCE 

Preferred:

Prior administrative, clerical, or customer service experience is desired.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Physical Requirements: 

Sitting: Frequent sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods.

Computer Use: Constant use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse for data entry and report preparation.

Communication: Frequent verbal and written communication with internal stakeholders.

Vision: Constant visual attention to detail for reviewing documents, data entry, and reading printed and electronic information.

Hearing: Constant listening to understand and interpret verbal communication in meetings, phone calls, and other interactions.

TRAINING

SAFETY 

  • SEU promotes a safe working environment. Employees are responsible for completing assigned tasks safely and efficiently, and supervisors are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment. 
  • Employees must report any unsafe work conditions or practices, as well as any near-miss incidents, to their supervisor and Risk Management. 
  • Work-related injuries must be immediately reported to Security and Human Resources. When life or limb are at risk, please dial 911. Supervisors and employees should ensure that injury/accident reports are submitted to the Office of Human Resources within 24 hours of the incident. 
  • Emergency Employees report for or must remain at work in emergency situations.  Dismissal or closure announcements do not apply to this position, unless instructed otherwise by your direct supervisor or a member of the Leadership Team.  


 

SCREENING

All full-time and some part-time positions at SEU are deemed security-sensitive and require background checks. Employees required to drive their own personal vehicle, a rental car or an SEU vehicle in performance of their duties must pass an MVR records check and meet the requirements of the University’s insurance carrier in order to meet the requirements of the position.
