Summary:
Skyland Trail is a national leader in the delivery of evidence-based Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy in a residential psychiatric setting. The TMS Technician is responsible for administering TMS treatments under the guidance of an attending psychiatrist. This position is also involved in the referral and consultation process for TMS, as well as in data collection/analysis and the overall research efforts of the Research & Outcomes department.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring overall TMS experience is professional, respectful, and effective for patients.
- Assists attending psychiatrist in coordinating TMS intake appointments, obtaining outside medical records, and communicating with referring providers.
- Assists attending psychiatrist with TMS mapping and motor threshold determination at initial TMS sessions.
- Administers scales for depression, anxiety, or other relevant symptoms.
- Administers daily TMS treatments under supervision of attending psychiatrist, including monitoring patients during sessions to ensure comfort and safety.
- Tracks TMS treatment parameters and session specifications.
- Alerts attending psychiatrist to concerns that arise between, before, or during TMS sessions.
- Documents all of the above in the electronic health record in a timely and accurate manner.
- Sanitizes TMS machine between sessions and ensures TMS room is kept neat and orderly.
- Assists with tracking and reporting of data related to TMS utilization and outcomes.
- Run and adheres to research protocols.
- Conducts and obtains informed consent from research subjects.
- Assists in maintaining compliance for research protocols.
- Collects, codes, and enters study information into database and may assist in data compilation.
- Identifies, contacts, corresponds with and interviews research study participants.
- Coordinates with Neuromodulation and Wellness staff for research sessions.
- Acts as liaison between Neuromodulation Program and Research and Outcomes.
- Coordinates research activities with Research and Outcomes staff.
- Maintains complete and accurate records and files pertaining to one or more research studies.
- Attends staff meetings, trainings, and other administrative experiences, when required.
- Assists clinic staff, attending psychiatrist, and admissions staff with care coordination tasks, urine drug screens, scheduling, admissions, and other duties as assigned, concurrently with TMS monitoring.
